Mr. Soccer was the iconic specialty soccer store established by Ron Griffith, who also founded the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club in 1968 (one of the state's first youth soccer clubs) and helped conceive the prestigious Dallas Cup youth international tournament. The original shop was located near the intersection of Spring Valley Road and Coit Road in far North Dallas, positioned near the Richardson border. During the 1970s and 1980s soccer boom, this spot became the go-to destination for local North Texas players trying to track down genuine, imported cleats, custom team uniforms, and international soccer directories.
